I’ve programmed computers for 45 years. I use Windows only admittedly. I was determined to give Edge a fair chance and tried using it for quite some time even back before extension support and so on. I was counting on Microsoft to know what there were doing. Perhaps there are features that are okay but here’s the thing I cannot believe. You can’t drag a shortcut url to the desktop, if you want one you have to do it the hard way. So, this is my final decision about Edge, I will NEVER use Edge, they have made an enemy out of me. I don’t care what happens to Edge, it can die, it’s irrelevant to me now, it’s wasted enough of my time. They can take their little proprietary database of bookmarks and shove it. I will never understand how they could be so stupid about it. All shortcuts to web sites that I have are simple files and will forever be just that, I barely use “bookmarks” inside a browser, I use many browsers and I do not wish to be exporting and importing bookmarks and by God I won’t. So Microsoft who provides much of the software I happily use made a fatal mistake with Edge. And the funny thing is, when I go searching for the pros and cons of Browsers, this problem is barely mentioned. Chrome does all I need in a browser with the exception of not always working with certain banks and the like because they’ve (those institutions) have locked themselves into IE, an almost dead browser. That’s my 2 cents worth. Believe me, I gave Edge way more chance to be my primary Browser than 90 percent of other people (or more). Sometimes I might use Edge indirectly from the Start page for Financial Info or whatever but I NEVER click the Edge icon nor will I ever. Thanks for listening to my rant.
